Growing a Better Future
Every FÔLD Reformer is made from genuine American hardwoods, sourced from responsibly managed forests in the United States. We use two species: Hard Maple and Red Oak.
Furniture makers and performance equipment manufacturers both rely on these woods because they are hard, dense and strong. They bring natural warmth into your home and the stable, grounded feel you notice from your first footwork series.

Why solid hardwood matters
Many Reformers and home fitness frames are made from rubberwood, a softer plantation timber. We chose solid American hardwood because you can feel the difference every time you train.
- Harder-wearing. On the Janka hardness scale, Hard Maple scores 1,450 lbf and Red Oak 1,290 lbf, against around 960 lbf for rubberwood. That makes maple roughly 50% harder and oak roughly 35% harder, so it resists dents, knocks and everyday wear for longer.
- Denser, so steadier. Oak and maple weigh around 700 to 750 kg/m³, against about 640 kg/m³ for rubberwood. More mass means less movement under load, so the frame stays planted as you push through each exercise.
- Stronger. Oak and maple have a bending strength of around 100 to 110 MPa, against 82 MPa for rubberwood. That is extra strength built into the frame for every session.
- Quieter and more grounded. Wood absorbs vibration where metal transmits it, so the carriage glides quietly and the whole Reformer feels solid underneath you.
All that solid hardwood makes the FÔLD Reformer a 75kg frame. That is why we engineered Easi-FOLD™, our patent-pending spring-assisted folding system. Two springs take the load, so almost anyone can fold it in one smooth, controlled movement.
